NFL must release information on New Orleans Saints investigation, NFLPA's DeMaurice Smith says - ESPN

A lot of good quotes coming from D. Smith in this article. Nice to see him not rolling over for Goodell and letting him do whatever he wants.

"It's very hard to have a productive discussion about punishment when one side has kept, to itself, all the information,"
Something doesn't seem right about this. C'mon Goodell; let's see those 50,000 pages of evidence

BEEN wanting to know...and Smith better get the 'evidence' soon. Roger has a history of destroying the evidence - see Sypgate...

Be careful what you wish for. Might not want some info to be released.

As of yet, they haven't turned over anything that we would consider to be direct evidence of player involvement in a 'pay-to-injure' scheme that we could consider for discipline.
They're looking for a pay to injure program, looks like Goodell is going to have a hard time showing "that" evidence

Looks like the player punishments may not be as harsh as we first thought

Nope. If they did it I want to know it. Honestly I think some unclear lines have been drawn. If I'm wrong then show me I'm wrong is what I'm saying. I can take it.

I can't think of any scenario where releasing all the information could make the situation any worse. Worst case scenario; there's hard facts that convince the Player's Union that all that was reported is true, and the media has a day of "no surprise" articles. Whatever; everyone already thinks we're guilty, at least we know the truth and move on.

However; if all they have is one disgruntled ex-Saint throwing around words like "cart off" and "knockout" and saying he heard Vilma one time in the locker room put a bounty on Favre for $10,000, then I think we come out looking a little better. Unless there's video, audio, or emails using phrases like "knockout" or "cart off" I think the Player's Union has a good case to attack Goodell's credibility. It's very hard to suspend or fine players based on what one person said to the commissioner. I also think that the NFL has played their best cards and the rest of their "proof" is all one person's account of everything that happened.

Oh no!

Bad words and punishments have been dished out. So really it cannot get worse. Spill the beans, all of it. And the we can we can understand the mess and wipe it up if we wish.

If what has been said so far is true, it's going to be interesting to see how they can PROVE any one player got paid anything in specific. What has been said is that they gave players envelopes with cash in it. This should be interesting to see how it plays out.
