Consulting with Parcells
As I understand it you have to be away from coaching 5 years before you can be a coaching HOF member. Parcells may want to still be around when he is enshrined and could pass up this job even though he would like to help out his friend Sean.
Instead of hiring him as a coach what do you think of bringing him in as an adviser? He could work with the young OC and brand new DC with game planning and other things his experience brings. He could probably do most of the things a head coach does besides being on the side line. |

Well if they hire Parcells as a ball-towelling-off guy or as water boy, in training camp, they can "promote him from within" to interim head coach, without having to fool with the Rooney rule, LOL. Bottom line the Saints need an interim head coach, not a consultant. The things you described him doing are all things that a head coach does.

Round about way.....
Let Parcells stand on our side line..... (not hired or a member of the team... "not affiliated with the NFL"). Allow Parcells to use his cell phone.... Payton could call the plays through Parcells with out ever having to speak to a member of the team. |

I think it would be a win - win situation if we hire Parcells.
He is a quality coach and the Saints org can put a thumb in Godell's eye. YES |
