Brooks is one of the few people on this team that can play...Why would you want to move him at all and just open up another hole on this team that is full of holes as it is? Trading Brooks leaves the Saints with QB being our biggest need and the cap hit we would take would prevent us from being able to fill the other holes we already have at CB, LB, DT, WR, and FB. It is the craziest thing i have ever heard. I dont know why Brooks get all of the heat? We never made the playoffs with Deuce and i wouldnt trade him for anyone in the league. It always falls on Brooks\' shoulders when he clearly wasnt the reason for the Saints struggles. Crazy the way some of you think sometimes.

as a former QB myself, i can recognize that a QB has many responsibilities that other players do not... one is to be the leader of the offense totally, and of the entire team... one must play with poise yet with heart... aaron, while very talented and productive (besides inopportune fumbles and miscues), is NOT the leader he needs to be... frankly, i don\'t think that his personality will let him be, but by the same token, until he grasps the offense and tells them this is my huddle, my team then we, as a team, won\'t go far. notice i\'m not condoning a \"me first\" attitude by aaron, but rather for him to play like it means more than just another paycheck... that means quit smiling like a retard when messing up...no one wants to see him grinning like an imbicile... we want him to throw off his chinstrap, take off his helmet angrily, and storm back to the sideline... at least that he show emotion, rather than complacency.

and what was the highest level that you played QB? Because Chad Hess was my QB in flag football and he was our leader but our team sucked. He did develop as a decent center, but QB just wasnt in the cards for him.
And please tell me why the QB HAS to be the leader of a team? You cant tell me that Brad Johnson or Trent Dilfer were the leaders of their respective teams during their Super Bowl runs. I dont believe in the philosophy that the leader MUST be the QB. I didnt see Brooks smile once last year after a bad play...not that i have never seen it, but not at all last year. I pretty much disagree with everything you just said. |

This is crazy.
Sure he makes mistakes, (and he does need work on touch passes) but mistakes come from taking chances and without taking chances there is no way to win. He needs support and time to develop his talent. Serious discussion about p^ssing away an elite quarterback for a draft pick is too insane to even seriously indulge. :casstet: [Edited on 20/4/2004 by Haz08] |

Watch and see what would happen if Brooks wasnt around...you guys who hate him now would pray to the Lord almighty to have him back. No one likes the fumbles, but the guy can make plays that most other QB\'s wouldnt even attempt to make.

I didn\'t say I hated him, I just think you\'re overstepping your boundaries when you say he\'s the greatest to don the black and gold. Hell, he\'s not even the best player on this team.
