Our chances?
very few people outside of the Who Dat nation, if any, are giving us a chance this season. There is talk about Carolina and Atlanta, Green bay and The Giants and the teams of the NFC but we seem to have been written off. I say...GOOD! I am pleased that we have been given a very small chance of making an impact this season because then people will leave us alone until they wonder how the hell are the Saints playing for The Superbowl.

Everyone's so focused on the bounty BS and bashing us every chance they get they are completely missing whats been going on. They might lose some defensive players to suspension but so far Loomis has signed players to fill in (and in most cases) upgrade at that particular position (except for a DB or 2 which expect they will get in the draft). Brees will be signed before May 21st...trust me niether he nor the Saints really want to go the route of him sitting out OTAs & Training camp. The only real adjustment that they will have a challenge with is the state of flux the coaching situation is in this year which IMO isn't as big a deal as everyone makes it seem.
I don't get why people are counting us out. I think its more cuz they WANT to count us out rather than there being a legitimate reason why the talent we have can't win 10 or more games and make it to the playoffs. Like I was telling a coworker the other day that predicted we would go 6-10 on the year cuz we won't have a defense. We didn't have one last year either...and we still went 13-3. And the last time I check other defenses still had a hard time stopping us from droppin 40 a game. |

Payton has been here 6 years building the blueprint that has made us who we are. Winning a super bowl without him on the sidelines would do nothing but further state what kind of franchise he and Loomis have built, in my opinion. It makes no sense for anyone to think it would diminish his importance.
And for the record, I think we are better now than last year. As others have said, our defense was bad last year anyway, so having a few defenders suspended is not that big a deal. Then add on the major upgrade at linebacker, plus Bunkley on the interior, and we have a much improved defense. The offense might even be better, and they broke records last year, as we all know. With Sproles having a year of the system under his belt, and Jimmy Graham now a well established star, we shouldn't see any slow start this year. Health is the key... If we stay healthy, we're not only the best team this year, but we have the potential to be one of the greatest teams this league has seen. But don't tell any haters I said that. They might think I'm delusional for looking at something other than negative conjecture by high ranking butt holes who call themselves executives. |
If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

We should be grateful that Payton took so much time getting everything right when he came in after Katrina. He evaluated everybody from the kitchen staff up and brought in the right people who were smart and wanted to build something together. And that's what he's done. He won't be here but an extension of him will be through the staff. Dude the skies are not falling, no matter how badly God-all want's it too. We will over come and we will be victorious. ![]() |

Vegas likes our chances. 10-1 to win championship. Atlanta 18-1, Carolina 50-1, Tampa 100-1. Oh, SF is 10-1, too.

I'm an OG Sunshiner but Goodell really put a beat-down on the New Orleans Saints. It's an uphill battle that few teams could face and overcome. The Saints are talented and the organization's leaders are smart (except when trying to cover up something they were told to discontinue
![]() Due to all this asinine over-reacting by the NFL, sanctimonious fans, and self righteous members of the media, winning the Superbowl in February might actually rival the feeling of winning the Superbowl two years ago. In any case, it's a familiar "us against the world" feeling and I'm ready for the season to start. Right now. |
