Chase Daniels has been a free agent every year. By the time Drew's future contract is up Kellen Moore will be a free agent too. Why waste a draft pick on such a far-future uncertainty??

Not a waste at all. I have a feeling Chase is going elsewhere soon because we can't protect him when he goes UFA. We need a new version of him on roster for the next few years to back up Brees.

So why burn a draft pick this year when we still have Chase?? Do it next year.

I would take him if we were in dire straights, but we are not.

YEEEEESSSS.
Getting a guy like this so late in the draft doesn't happen every year. He would be great in our system especially after a few years working with/learning from Drew. Chase is most likely gone soon. He's not getting younger and I don't see him just sitting on the bench when he could go somewhere and probably compete for a starting job. I'm a Hokie and I watched Kellen Moore dissect our D in the opening game a few years ago. From what I've heard about him, he's also a really high character guy. I'm telling you, I think this kid could be our future. |

If you compare Moore to Brees, the similarities are astounding. Pass accuracy is off the charts. He's obviously got a brain on him as well, which is a major plus. Also, getting picked that late, would be an instant motivation for him to prove his critics wrong.

My main point is basically that if we draft him in a late round this year, then hit him with a restricted free agent tender for 2 years... he'll still be an unrestricted free agent before Drew's next contract is up. Thus being just like Chase Daniel as everyone has said will be looking to start somewhere else.

Whether he'll be a free agent or not you tell him to stick around because the job is his when Brees is gone. Like Rodgers with Favre. |
