Asante Samuel for a 5th or 6th hmmmmm????

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Asante would bring in experience that could benefit the team but in all likely hood it wont happen. Probably best for the team cause we can go younger n cheaper just coach em up....

Not sure he's done. He has talent, and would be walking in with a chip on his shoulder. We might get 2-3 good years out of this guy if the deal is right.

I'd like to have him for sure, but the Saints can't afford him without him agreeing to negotiate a new contract, which I don't see happening.

So, no to the trade for him.

He's due 21 million over the next 2 seasons.

He's still a good CB, but not worth 21 million.

Samuel is a solid CB who would start on our team. The reason Philly is willing to give him up for only a 5th or 6th is because of his contract. We don't have the space to bring him in.

I'd be interested if we didn't have our top 3 corners in place with Greer, Robinson, and Patrick. I know he would probably be an upgrade over Robinson but for the money we'd be paying him... I think we should pass and let Robinson show what he can do under Spag's.

Get Drew signed first before we worry about signing anyone "expensive", my thoughts...
