It's just more BS.......nothing more than accusations without evidence.
|
Amazing...they truly fear US more than any other team in the NFL...they have to dismantle us to beat us now. :) Talk about "tampering!" Good-hell, stop messing with perfection! You are already lower than a grub...you can't get much lower.
|
LEAVE US THE **** ALONE!!!!!
|
This story is absolute garbage. I get that the idea of a whole other Saints controversy is like crack to the media right now, but this story is ludicrous. I wouldn't worry Saints fans, there won't be any merit to this whatsoever.
|
Gotta love ESPN..... More interested in finding you guilty in the public eye, before providing any solid proof, just to boost their gd ratings. F'k espn, and any of its offiliates, i am completely done with their jerry springer type of journalism. I hope Mickey sues them for everything they have.
|
I guess I don't understand anymore. Suddenly everyone has shifted to hating ESPN. Did they admit it wasn't true, or is everyone holding out that it isn't true?
|
Garbage, nothing will come of this. Bet on it
|
So a guy tells ESPN this happened.. with zero fact.. and they pass it off as fact..? By the way - if they knew it was re-wired, why was he inspecting the wiring in a GMs office?
Doesn't sound credible. BTW http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/rapid-r.../post/18792441 <-- THIS. Additional quote ---- "Letten said he only confirmed to ESPN his office received a general allegation about Saints concerning electronic devices." Zero credibility. |
Isn't there a statute of limitations on this kind of stuff? Geez!
|
We've been just as angry with espn as we were with Goodell since bountygate. Because espn has continuously reported bad news about the Saints, even if it were completely derived. But when evidence came out in favor of us, espn has been nowhere to be found.
So trust me, this isn't a shift. The Saints have asked espn for their sources, and they have declined. We're not assuming anything, we're simply using common sense, until somebody gives us some proof. But they surely won't |
Yeah, those sub-par .500 seasons are pure proof of cheating..... Espn is on a witch hunt, and they arent above bs just to get ratings..... These "sources" either need to come forward with SOLID proof, or these stories dont even make it to possibility. I dont know what the league's problem is with us, or why they are on this vendetta, but enough is enough.

I guess ESPN figured we were getting just a little to drama free?

It's frustrating that the media can report whatever they want with little to no facts. If this turns out to be false no one will ever say a word about ESPN and the individuals working on the story but the Saints will always have this attached to them. For ESPN, a source is anyone who has an interesting story to tell, regardless of if they have proof. However, while the big wigs at ESPN and Outside the Lines thought it was OK to run this story, it seems a lot of the analysts and on air personalities for ESPN are skeptical.

The main thing that bothers me is their is so little facts but it is the #1 story on ESPN. If they were not against the Saints explain how this is the #1 story. NBA push for the playoffs, NHL playoffs and NFL draft takes a back seat to a "maybe"?

"This report is 1000 % false- completely inaccurate- we asked ESPN to provide us evidence to support thier allegations and they refused," said team spokesman Greg Bensel. "The team and Mickey are seeking all legal recourse regarding these false allegations" I hope to god this is true so they can sue the hell out of them. |
This will fkn do it for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Pressure cooker!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:evil:

Jay Glazer (@JayGlazer) just tweeted;
Just got an email from Mickey Loomis: "This report on ESPN is absolutely false. I have a monitor in front of me in my booth that provides the league issued stats for the game. I have a small tv with the network broadcast and I have an earpiece to listen to the WWL-AM radio (flagship broadcaster) game broadcast. To think I am sitting in there listening and actually and or doing something with the offensive and defensive play calls of the opposing teams makes this story and the unnamed sources that provided the false information that much more less credible…it just didn’t happen." |

This is going to add to the time that Brees holds out on a new contract. And if, God forbid, this turns out to be true, we can all kiss Brees' ass goodby. He will sit out this season, and demand to be traded next year. I hope like hell I'm wrong.
|
Well if my memory serves me right we were not good in those years, now I don't remember Loomis and co. hoisting any trophys or winning any titles, point being listening would have given us an edge and quite a few more wins I would think. My opionion is the more they start crap the more negitive things Benson hears and probably doesn't like it. I truely think Loomis and Payton have turned us into a powerhouse the NFL never wanted {small market} and are trying to get Loomis and Payton fired. Thats the only thing I can come up with.

It's weird though. Why would someone make this type of story up -- and give exact detail though? It has to make you think.

I haven't stopped my television on NFLN OR ESPN since the whole bountygate thing started...same for radio. I've stopped dropping by and contributing to the NFC South blog on ESPN.COM - in part because I was flaming them so bad they banned me. Still...
If this is false, and it sure looks like it is, the Saints as an organization should start holding the NFL and ESPN responsible. The NFL for leaking the bountygate crap (which they still have yet to provide any real evidence) to the media, one trickle at a time, to their "trusted" sources. ESPN for willingly broadcasting this crap. Call them morally corrupt. Call them a disgrace to journalism. Call them tabloid media. Whatever, just do it in a very public way. Call press conferences. Grant interviews to non-sports media like Rolling Stone or Playboy or GQ or whatever. Participate with the NFL's chosen media sources only as much as is contractually required and not a single word more...not a single minute more. This is out of control and maybe, just maybe, our beloved Saints are in a position to call them all to the carpet. Let's embarrass John Clayton, Ashley Fox, Pat Yasinskas and the rest in as public a way as is possible. Call them out BY NAME! Let's hold the producers of outside the lines to the fire, and if legal action is an option, lets take it to it's fullest extent. |
I could see closed to the media practices all week every week during the season as for Loomis, he needs to sue ESPN and the coward that spoke up with this lie in the first place for everything he can get
|
Apparently the FBI is involved too. If proven, it is a violation of NFL rules, and potentially a federal crime under the EPCA of 1986. I remain neutral to this, however, until I am told otherwise, I feel there is some truth to this. Keyword: feel

I wonder if Goddell and Co. will read all of our post and fine us or imprison some of you. The reason I say some of you, I'm going to run, it's harder to find a moving target!!!

It's just typical media sensationalism based on one random person's accusation. Remember how ESPN and the rest of the media took and ran with the story about former Syracuse basketball assistant coach Bernie Fine? Yeah, it was the hot story at the time to bust college coaches for child sexual abuse... and what did it turn out to be?? Made up.
