Thanks....SloMo just sent me a private message this morning about it. I didn't figure that would be where it would be...mainly because I had no idea what it was lol. Thanks

It's believed both the state and federal statue of limitations in the case have expired, so it remains unlikely GM Mickey Loomis will face any criminal charges.

They are only liable for prosecution if there was any attempt to cover this up which lasted into 2007 or further, if it ended before hand...then what you said holds true

SloMotion 04-24-2012 11:32 AM

I thought there had to be some sort of statute-of-limitations on any criminal charges being brought ... this is all just too much, what ever happened to waiting until you have some facts before you try 'scooping' a story?

There is, it is 5 years (I think). I read that if there was an attempt to cover this up in 2007 or later, it would fall within that time period and criminal charges could be brought

Halo 04-24-2012 11:35 AM

Hate to say it but as everyone knows, I am a die-hard Saints fan....
but with all the off-season BS going on I'm going to have a hard time picking them to win more than 6 or 7 games this year... especially without our coach.

I believe this is the single most depressing off-season I've witnesses in the 35 years or so I've followed the team with intensity, pretty much since I started paying close attention when I was a child.

RedWings44 04-24-2012 11:36 AM

Welcome to the old world of the Detroit Lions lol. Like I said, I feel bad for you fans and for the players of whom had no idea/involvement in any of this (including the bounty thing)

Deer in the headlights!
What to do? What to do?
Maybe they'll just swirve and miss us.

Statute of limitations or not, you have to understand as Saints fans and citizens of the City of New Orleans, we're just taking it on the chin non-stop... and for something none of us personally have done.

Whether any of these allegations are true or not, we have no way to argue or fight back. We get zero information from the league, no one can tell what will happen next, and it's just a mess.

Really? I never would've pegged you for a Saints fan, ... but I think you guys are better for 6/7 wins ... it might be a little harder making game-time adjustments and calling plays, but you guys got the players and coaching staff that can step up ... I'm still picking New Orleans to win the NFC South ... and yeah, all this offseason drama is having a negative affect on how I'm viewing the entire NFL right now ... it is depressing ... but it's always darkest before the dawn ... this too will pass.

I kind of agree with you. The Saints were bottom dwellers off and on for years, (mostly on). Early in the 2000's we had some hope with Hazlett and Mueller for a short while steering the ship, but that ended up a joke.

Detroit had the agonizing torture of having to deal with Matt Millen and his off-season habits for WAY TOO LONG. Millen was famous for bone-headed offseason B.S.

When I saw Millen make it to the NFL network as an "expert" and also on NBC, I really scratched my head--- he's a total idiot.

So I guess I know what it felt like for Detroiters to be on the open seas on a ship WITH NO NAME... and no one truly at the helm.

So yeah, I'm kinda getting that "Matt Millen Off-Season" kind of a feeling.

Ya, when I replied with the quote, I didn't feel the Lions part was relevant to what you were saying...so I took it out. Anyway, ya, no one should suffer an offseason like those which were provided by M*tt M*llen..(as spelled on the Lions messageboards). Also, no one should suffer an 0-16 season, except maybe the P@ckers

Bill Polian is so awesome.

Not only is he defending us on OTL right now but he also took a shot at The Patriots during his commentary. (something like: "even if they did this, it's not like they were videotaping signals from the sidelines.")

Freaking great.

I think I have it figured out the next conspiracy The Saints Defence was on the grassy knoll on Nov.22 1963

jokeray 04-24-2012 02:37 PM

They were also seen at the Ford Theater, April 14th, 1865.

Dos Equis 04-24-2012 02:42 PM

We might as well just combine all these Saints scandals and call it Bayougate.

Even if this happened. There can't be any legal proof! All electronics and wiring were replaced in 2005/2006 so there isn't any evidence unless someone illegally video taped or recorded it without the Saints and Loomis's knowledge. Case closed, Next!!!

It ALL requires proof. But if they can prove that there was any attempt to cover this up in or after 2007, legal action can be taken

Yup. They are talking like it is a fact that Loomis and the Saints were using stolen information, while in fact the report even states that there is no indication that Loomis actually listened to the alleged device.

ESPN: A Louisiana state police task force is investigating...

NFL: Col. Mike Edmonson, superintendent of the Louisiana State Police, said Tuesday. "We assigned a trooper that works with the FBI to follow their investigation. These are allegations at this point.

LMAO...more ****ty journalism by ESPN....ONE state trooper = not a task force.

Even though the NFL is now talking about this, they are being VERY careful about their choice of words. ESPN? Not so much.
