Saints Draft grades

New Orleans Saints: It’s hard to do much without a pick in Round 1 or 2 … and the Saints didn’t do much. The keys will be DT Akiem Hicks’ (89) transition from Canadian college ball to the NFL and WR Nick Toon’s (122) ability to stay healthy. No one after that is a sure-bet to make the roster. Grade: D-plus
2012 NFL Draft Grades

Best pick: Fourth-round receiver Nick Toon was a productive player at Wisconsin. He should be able to compete for a No. 4 job, which is a spot that sees the field for the Saints.
Questionable move: Bounty-gate. That caused them to get stripped of a key second-round pick.
Third-day gem: Guard Andrew Tiller, a sixth-round pick, plays with a nasty streak that fits the Saints' line. They put great emphasis on their guards with a small quarterback.
Analysis: It has been a tough four months for the Saints. This draft didn't do much to help them. They were without a first-round pick because of a bad trade for Mark Ingram last year. They lost their second in the scandal and then used the third on a defensive tackle from Canada. The beat goes on in New Orleans and it isn't a good one.
Grade: F

You can actually feel the jealousy and hate spewing from prisco's write-up.

I'm embarrassed for him.

Oh Pete, the beat will go on, as in a 11 to 12 win season, again.

Is there even any point in grading the draft when you haven't even seen these guys on the field yet?

He sure did skip the Akiem Hicks pick rather quickly, what's up with that?

Sure, just don't confuse it with a final grade. Everyone knows it takes 3 years to weed out the busts and develop the stars, everyone.

Its simply an opinion about how well you selected based on the information on hand about the prospects you selected and where you selected them, how they may fit into your system, etc etc.

But if you pick a guy in the 1st round that the consensus opinion of is that he's a 7th round prospect, you can assume its not a good pick. Conversely, if you grab a guy in the 4th that most thought was a 2nd round talent, you did good.

We didn't do all that well based on where our players were slated to go by numerous draft experts, former GM's and former players turned analysts.

Prisco knows what he's doing. That's how the hits keep on coming.

Don't read it. Don't answer it. Don't post it. Let him fade him the background. Stop making him relevant.
