There is surely more than enough reasonable doubt about the accusations to bring this to court. What any court would be able to do, or whether they would be any more open minded than Roger himself, remains to be seen.
If other owners would man up and realize the danger this guy they voted in as commissioner poses to the long term prosperity of the league, they could vote him out and then we could see these suspensions lifted. But just as Goodell doesn't want to admit his many mistakes, I don't think the owners want to admit how stupid they were to let this guy in, by voting him out. Also there would have to be some kind of exception made to even be able to vote, as I don't believe they can normally do that until his contract runs out. Then they might simply decide not to keep him. But none of them want to attract attention that would suggest that they are on the side of a team that has been painted as a group of assassins. At least that's the feeling I'm getting. Hopefully it's just gas. |
If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.
