No Playoffs

Well, the Saints have shown me today that unless they change something big time, they won't go to the playoffs this year. In fact, they'll be lucky to win another game!

In the first seven weeks of the season, 7 or 8 trips to the red zone would have yielded 30 points at the absolute least. Today it yielded 15. Our defense is terrible, if not the worst in the league, very close to it. With our offense becoming predictible (as usual), and ineffective thanks to Brooks' consistent pattern of poor decision making, I really don't know if we can win another game.

Well its good to see the bandwagon just got a little lighter. Thats good that you have given up on a team that is still 7-4. The offense has sputtered and the defense has been much better. The worst in the league? They gave up 24 points with the offense and special teams giving the ball up 6 times. They are on the field so much lately what would you like them to do? I just hope in a couple of weeks I dont see you in here when the playoffs start and the Saints are playing saying what a good team this is. You jumped off the wagon now stay off. The Saints will make the playoffs and they will win more games. I havent seen fans that are more pessamistic than some of the fans here. The Saints are 7-4 and people arent happy. Maybe we should go back to the 80\'s and 90\'s when no one respected the Saints and they won 4 games every year and all will be happy.

i dont see how u think that the d is that bad, yea they gave up some scores but we turned the ball over several times instead of puttin points on the board which makes it tougher on the D

Folks, for reasons of realism, you must understand that giving up 164 yds rushing against a team that avgs 89 per game coming into this game, means something is amiss...be it Linebackers, D-line whatever. I dont know what it is but hopefully the coaches can pinpoint it a correct it this week, or we will be in for a LOONG sunday night against TB....

OK - my post was definitely made in anger... the Saints probably WILL make the playoffs. However, this team has gone from legitimate Super Bowl contender to a team that will probably be the 5th or 6th wild card team, only because there is no other team to take their spot, and will exit the playoffs in the first round.

How can I say the defense is that bad?! They\'re 25th in the league! That is the worst I have EVER seen a Saints defense in my entire life. Dallas, Carolina, Cleveland, Seattle, Washington, Arizona, and THE EXPANSION Houstons all have better defenses than the Saints.

Yes, they are 7-4. They did beat some good teams. But that was over a month ago now. Since then this year\'s Saints have started to display the same traits every other Saints team has. 1. They lose down the stretch when it really counts. 2. They play down and lose to opponents that they should kill (Detroit, Cleveland), but beat teams they should lose to (Tampa, Green Bay, San Francisco).

Honestly, I am not worried about the Bucs at all next week. They\'re a great team, which means we\'ll play great and might even beat them. It\'s teams like Carolina, Baltimore, Minnesota, and the Bengals that scare me. I don\'t expect better than 10-6.

I didn\'t fall off the band wagon. I\'ve always been realistic about this team. They surprised me with early wins against teams I didn\'t think they would beat. With an easy schedule through the second half of the season I did think that they had a great chance. And at times, they may have been the best team in the league (in a given week). But it doesn\'t matter what you do in week 5. What matters is how you\'re playing in weeks 10-16. Go back and look at the last 5 superbowls and see what the teams who got to the Super Bowl did in November and December. I bet you won\'t find more than 2 maybe 3 loses for any team in that stretch. We\'ll get to four losses in that stretch in the next week or two, and probably end up with 5 or 6 losses in November and December... WHEN IT COUNTS.

Ok you say they beat the good teams and lose to the bad teams. You say they will be a 5th or 6th seed in the playoffs. So with your assesment of the Saints they will win the Super Bowl. If they are a 5th or 6th seed then they are playing all good teams they shouldnt beat and will run straight through the playoffs and super bowl as an underdog
