Carmichael: "This Is a Great Opportunity for Chase Daniel"

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; With the extra media attention that Chase is getting he is a better trade candidate. If he plays well in the preseason we may get a couple of nice offers....

You are not mistaken. And if the $23 million continues to pose an obstacle, since $19 million is not enough as the highest paid QB, we may have to duplicate the effort of the last two Superbowl winners, not that there is anything wrong with that!

Perhaps, but I think we win the divsion without Brees anyway.

I like his fire and ability to make plays with his legs. And if the Saints ran the ball a whole lot more, I agree they would be competitive. But, in the very limited reps I've seen of him throwing the ball, it doesn't make me confident in his overall ability as a starter in the NFL. Best case is them winning 7 games this year without Drew.

I haven't seen him throw very much. When Drew was out all Daniels did was hand off the ball. I am curious to know how he looks with the first unit.
I believe that we will go 11 or 12 wins this season without Payton. If we don't have Drew we could still get in the playoffs with Daniels handing the ball to our talented backs. I think with the defense playing better that we could still win 10 games.jmho

Which brings to question.....

We are almost semi comfortable with out Payton, because he and Drew read each others minds.

If we had Payton but no Drew I would be inclined to agree, play off bound.

No Payton AND No Drew, my confidence wanes.
