I'm not so sure it isn't realistic. If we give Drew what Condon appears to want, which player or players are we unable to sign going forward.

If it was cut and dry we would have caved already. We just don't have the cap room to accommodate his precise wants.

How do we know that Chase can't handle it and at least get is a wild card spot if given a chance? Everyone being so paranoid when not one of us can tell the future. And another question I have....if the signing bonus doesn't count towards the cap why not just give this man like 30mil upfront give him a cheap base for this year and give him the rest in the next 2 years?

It was turned down because of some upcoming big QB contracts that would effect it... It was a prudent decision, and there was absolutely no reason to rush. The cat is very smart... Am I saying he knew he would break a record last season.. no... Did he know he was going to do something to increase his value? probably so... and he did just that.

Had he signed, then you can bet he would be the second highest paid QB today between Manning and Brady...

Manning - 5 years $96M

Brady 5 year $78.5M

Drew was offered $19/year = $95M

But the real issue of why he did not accept is not because of the Contract Value... It was because of the structure and loading.

I don't even know how to answer something this naive. The point is, we have been to 4 playoff appearances with drew, an NFC championship and won a super bowl.
