A shiver went through the Saints’ organization when second-year DT Johnathan Sullivan showed up for the team’s recent minicamp tipping the scales at a whopping 350 pounds. Hunkering down at the dinner table wasn’t really the kind of offseason workout the team had in mind for Sullivan, who was the sixth overall pick in last year’s draft. Sources say the team is terrified that Sullivan will become the second coming of former DTs Norman Hand and Grady Jackson, both of whom were run out of the Big Easy due to their weight problems. Sullivan’s immaturity was a problem at times last season, and he developed more slowly than expected as the season wore on. He was listed at 313 last season but likely played at least 10 pounds heavier, and the Saints were hoping to move toward a leaner, quicker set of tackles inside with the addition of free-agent DT Brian Young.
