Funny......Lance Moore had seasons of 928 yds w/ 10 TDS, 763 w/ 8 TDS, & 627 w/ 8 TDS. Jimmy Graham, though a TE, is coming off of a 1310 yds/11 TD season. Meachem's best.........722 yds. w/ 9TDS. Hell......Sproles had over 700 yds & 7 TDs receiving last year. And Meachem was a 1st round draft pick!!! Notice.....there was no need to post Colston's stats.

The fact that meachem hasn't posted 1000 yard seasons etc still doesn't rule out of the fact he was a good player for us and helped us win a superbowl
If meachem didn't strip that ball and return for a TD, and then catch a 50 yard TD pass to send the game to overtime vs the skins in 09, we wouldn't have got homefield advantage and the path to the Super Bowl would have changed Meachem may not have been the best in our offense, but if Morgan resembles his play in any way, he will be a good player for us |

The reason he never put up huge numbers is because, as others have mentioned, Bree's spreads the ball around so much. If Morgan turned out to be a replica of Meachem, that's a huge win for us (especially value-wise).

Being a Saints fan you should know our offensive yardage was spread around so it was more about contributing as a part of a whole. We amassed over 2,000 rushing yards last season but not one of our running backs had over 1,000 yards. I shall miss Meachem as he was a valued member of our team. And pleased don't use the term 'case closed' like no-one else's opinion matters.

Lance didn't have double digit TD's or 1000 yrd. Neither did Henderson.... As for drops they have all had critical drops and or in colstons case fumbles at a time or two... While he was here Meacham was a productive saint with flurries of great..... We don't need Nick Toon or Joe Morgan to come in and set the world on fire ( even though I think they make us even more dynamic) just filling in I think is enough for rookie receivers. |
