These updated rules have allowed the passing game to open up dramatically, evidenced by the video-game passing numbers QB's have been posting in the last few years. The wide-open passing game spreads out the defense, opening up running lanes & creating opportunities for bubble screens, etc. Long story short, I voted "Dominant Offense." |

My first inclination was to go for great defense, ok offense because the Chicago team in Superbowl XX was staggering. Since then the likes of Pittsburgh Steelers have closed the opposition down. So it is easy tothink yeah baby defense, defense.
But then the Dome Patrol was unable to deliver. Mayve the offense was even ok? Speed forward 25 years and you have the Saints and the Packers. Clearly great offenses. So I don't know. I am going for balance. |

Of the 6 worst offenses in the entire league .. Three of them Packers/Patriots/Giants with the Pac/Pat being the worst made the play offs and the Giants won the SB. Giants/Packers/New England were in the bottom 10 for rushing. With the Giants being the worst. The Patriots/Packers/Giants were all in the top 8 offenses for productivity with the Giants being in the top 3 for post season productivity. Same three teams in the top 5 in passing. QB's win Super Bowls... In the day and age of new rules. Well in this case Ill give Coughlin the credit since I just cant give it to the gourd. |

... and that's kind of it in a nutshell, you need a Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers (Matt Stafford) type QB in order to make that New England/New Orleans/Green Bay template work ... that's what makes it so fun to jab at the Falcons, they're trying to do it with Matty 'Ice', .

I didn't read all the posts here, as a matter of fact, I didn't read any of the posts. It's late and I didn't feel like it. I just jumped to the end. I chose offense, because there ain't nothin purtier than watching Brees put up those 40, 50, and 60 burgers!
