A closer look at: Devery Henderson
In the second round of the NFL Draft, the Saints got an opportunity to make a deal with Minnesota. Earlier in the spring, New Orleans had sent their fifth round selection to Jacksonville in the trade for CB Jason Craft. Now, the Saints had the opportunity to get that selection back for the price of moving of two spots down.
LSU WR Devery Henderson was picked in the second round by the Saints Associated Press "We spent a lot of time thinking about it," said Saints Director of Player Personnel Rick Mueller. "We took a risk. We had a couple of guys we liked at that spot, but not well as the player we got. We really thought we would be able to do it and still get him, and it worked out in our favor. We got a free fifth-round pick for moving back two spots and still got the guy we were hoping to get." The guy the Saints were hoping to get was LSU WR Devery Henderson. Henderson, a 5-11, 196-pounder, intrigued the Saints because of his raw talent and something no one can coach - speed. want more? click here: http://neworleanssaints.com/newsroom...?articleid=740 |
