WR Donte' Stallworth has been impressive in the offseason conditioning program. He has worked diligently on his conditioning, hoping to prevent muscle pulls and strains, which have hampered him during the season. The coaches are optimistic he is poised for a breakout year.
TE Boo Williams blossomed late last season and will compete with Ernie Conwell for the starting job. Williams is a tough matchup for linebackers in coverage because of his speed and athletic ability. He has gained strength and has become an adequate blocker, although that's not his strong suit. Defensive tackles analysis Johnathan Sullivan might be the most scrutinized player on the defense. He showed talent as a rookie last year but struggled to adjust to the higher competition level. He disappointed the club by reporting to the offseason program overweight. DT Brian Young, who signed as a free agent (Rams), hustles and can sometimes make plays in the backfield, but he can be overpowered at the point of attack because he is undersized (6-2, 278). The drafting of E Will Smith forces versatile Willie Whitehead to shift to tackle, where he'll back up Young. Rookie Rodney Leisle gives effort but lacks great speed and range. He'll back up Sullivan. Kenny Smith is inconsistent and must step it up to keep his roster spot. Kenderick Allen and Howard Green provide depth. http://www.foxsports.com/content/view?contentId=2371672 |

Sounds like the Saints may have problems up the middle - hmm, and to think we\'ve only tried about 7 DTs since they let Glover go. It also sounds like the Saints are a little disappointed in a player they, in essence, spent TWO first round picks to get. That Jiim Haslett is one hell of a coach, I\'ll tell ya. LMAO. |

Hey man - I think Boo Williams could be the sleeper pick of a lot of fantasy drafts this year. I think the guy is really going to step up big... finally. Can\'t be happy about one overweight underachieving DT and an undersized DT with the linebackers we have.
But hey, maybe this year Donte really will be stronger and more flexible. |

Sound more reasonable to me to pick Vince Wilfork instead of Will Smith. I don\'t care how they sugar coat it. Will Smith was picked for one reason only and that is to replace Howard or help contract negotition between Howard this year and Grant next year.

His selection had nothing to do with his super-stud performance at Ohio... nothing... not even a little...

hmmmm....how many sacks did will smith register last season? Yes I agree he is a good prospect but he didn\'t register any dominance to be picked over Kenechi.

Oh, I see... his selection DID have something to do with more than just Grant and Howard\'s contracts.
