Whats confusing is that during the Grubbs/Nicks conversations, I thought Grubbs excelled at run blocking more so than pass protection.

Maybe I'm remembering it backwards.

No, thinking back, I think you got it right & Grubbs was described as more of a run blocker ... more good news for you guys now that he's getting ranked up there as a pass blocker ... I like that PFF.

Grubbs is a run blocker first. That's where his value lies. Drew gets rid of the ball so quickly that my mother could play guard. She's certainly big enough.
