9 isn't enough to land Freeney unless they sprinkle some Loomis magic on a two year deal. He is still scary and would be our first elite pass rusher in years.
Maybe we throw in Ivory and get the Colts to eat 4-5 mil of Freeney's contract

IDK how big-name of a player is out there for $9mil ... Cliff Avril (DET) at DE is currently on the market & might be a good fit, except he's already turned down 3yrs/$30 million and IDK know that he's worth more then that ... maybe Loomis could work some more of that 'contract magic' and fill a hole in the defense.

I'd give him a Trent Cole type contract. He's 26 and keeps getting better. I think the main sticking point on why he turned that deal down was probably the years. Even if he doesn't feel 10 million is enough, it can't be more than 1 mil or 2 more.

You mean like 4yrs instead of the three? IDK, the Lions/Avril aren't talking about it ... I though it was about the money and I'm anticipating everyone on that team wanting to get Stafford/Calvin money ... F/A talks are gonna' be ugly in the 'D' over the next few seasons.
