this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; FF, Were I planning against the Saints, I would go with short and precise pass routes, draw plays, and screens to take advantage of our speedy and aggressive pass rush. Stopping any/all of the above depend on LBs and CBs. ...

This Years Pass Rush
FF,
I believe our corners are fine, but the reason I\'ve been harping on this point is because people seem to think that fine is good enough given our \"great pass rush\". However, \"great pass rushes\" (other than perhaps the dome patrol) DO need good corners - otherwise it is too easy to dump (i.e. throw short passes or screens). I don\'t think our starting corners are a reason for too much concern (except perhaps their hight), but I do think that the addition of a tall, skilled corner is critical to our defense. |
