Re: OFFICIAL SAINTS VS. PATS PRESEASON GAMEDAY THREAD
A few things I noticed out there.
That sack-fumble on Brady was a thing of beauty. Can't wait to see it happen in the regular season. Was watching Hicks as closely as I could on the online feed I had. Saw he got some good pressure a couple of times. On Marquis Johnson's interception I believe it was Hicks taking down the Pats QB (might have been #75 Walker, numbers a little blurry on the screen). Also disrupted the backfield on a couple running plays and swatted one at the line. I was very impressed for his first game. Tanner is a favorite of mine as well, I hope they find room for him and possibly Morgan on the team as well. Although I don't know if Morgan can beat out Roby, who has had a pretty terrific couple of games at WR and is a known special teams contributor. Banyard impressed me with the couple of carries I noticed, nothing flashy but I thought he had pretty good positive yards behind our last string o-line. Cadet was featured pretty heavily at HB, and was pretty feast or famine. Love him when he gets the ball in space though, he can make guys miss. Chase Daniel was not as impressive as last week, but didn't look bad either. A good run for a first down called back, and then follows it up with a beautiful first down to Roby. Pick wasn't his fault either. Still, I thought he could have shown better. Maybe I'm just being hard because I thought he did so well last week. Canfield and McCown both get a thumbs down from me. Only other thing of note I can think of right now is that Martez Wilson better get his head on straight on special teams. We can't be having penalties that extend drives on fourth down in the regular season. Inexcusable. |

I got to watch it at work tonight. I blinked and Drew was gone. Neither team looked good.

Ive seen more out of Tanner and Roby at WR this season than I have all the other times they been out there in the preseason games in the past.

I think we replay in central time saturday 2pm. Because listening to the
game on radio was so riveting. Im sure the tv version will be equally exciting. |

Re: OFFICIAL SAINTS VS. PATS PRESEASON GAMEDAY THREAD
Tez Wilson made two STUPID plays on special teams. The Patriots also targeted him with the run game. Still a project at best. One trick pony. Lofton is a beast. Casillas was all over the field making plays. I do think Shanle's days are finally done. Kasay opened the door for Hartley. Cadet has GREAT hands, plays special teams, and looked better as a runner. Patrick made a great play on a deep ball. He can cover. Johnson and White are solid backup CB's. Daniel is a fighter. He has skills. His ability to make plays with his legs is a big plus. The DLine was active but not very good against the run. Overall, the team looked tired with 2 games in 5 days and all the travel.
