Re: Nick Toon/Adrian Arrington update
Looks like it's Joe Morgan, Andy Tanner, and Courtney Roby's job to lose those remaining WR spots.

As much as I thought he would be gone, it looks like Roby will be making the team again. He looked solid in the New England game. Tanner has looked pretty impressive, as well. Morgan has looked good on some plays and bad on others. I would say Tanner and Roby have the upper hand right now.

Re: Nick Toon/Adrian Arrington update
One thing Morgan has going for him is his speed. Meachem's departure leaves the Saints with one less downfield threat and I think the coaches will consider it. It might not be enough for him to the roster but it will certainly help his cause.

Re: Nick Toon/Adrian Arrington update
I'd be quite disappointed to see Toon hit the IR. Worst case scenario for him, I see him no worse than fifth WR on the game day roster by the end of the year, with Roby playing 4th. If he doesn't get any time in preseason, he can hit the PR for awhile and get up to speed while Roby and Tanner dress.
I understand what people see in Morgan, but for me he has to show a lot more in the next few preseason games if he expects to beat out Tanner for the PR WR spot, let alone the active roster. Roby is to much of a proven commodity and playing too well, Morgan is too much of an unknown. Tanner has alao outperformed him. Drops wont do it for Morgan. I'll eat my words if Morgan has a couple good games against the Jags and Texans. |

Re: Nick Toon/Adrian Arrington update
Well, I think Roby is probably on the team for sure. He is a special teams freak and is holding his own at WR. So, that pretty much nails the top 4 spots. After that it gets real dicey. Do the Saints carry 5 or do they carry 6 at WR? At this point Arrington probably needs to be considered done, looks like IR for him or an injury settlement cut. Morgan has some sick speed, but is very unreliable at this point. Tanner looks like he is the real deal, but the Saints are already loaded with possession type of receivers. Unfortunately, unless Toon gets better in a hurry, his season is going to be done real soon. Yes, he probably would get a spot if healthy, but I seriously see him going to IR and getting another shot next year.
At this point I am going to stick with my earlier prediction of Colston, Moore, Henderson, Roby, and Morgan if they keep 5, if they keep 6 then Tanner probably makes it. |

Re: Nick Toon/Adrian Arrington update
Unless joe Morgan has the best games of his life the next two weeks I think it's Roby's job to lose
Not taking anything away from tanner but we need another speedster than can get downfield in a hurry and roby fits that, he's definitley showing he wants the spot |
