Jimmy Graham isn’t thinking about “breaking the bank,” yet

With Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski cashing in after only two NFL seasons, many assume that Saints tight end Jimmy Graham will be next.

Graham isn’t among the many.

“I’m already breaking the bank I think,” Graham told the media on Thursday, via comments transcribed and distributed by the team. “I don’t even think about those aspects of it right now. We have such a big season and we have so many hurdles to get over until that really comes in the picture. I know if I handle and I take care of the things I need to on the field that this organization will take care of me.”

Jimmy...Jimmy...Jimmy, think about this. The next time you're at the Brees' playing with the kids, Baylen has more money in his bank account than you do.

His saying this might actually be part of the process of getting a new contract, it always takes som posturing and it is sure to only increase his popularity among the fans.

...thus his value as trade bait.

He's peaking too early. And has been injured. He'll never finish as a Saint.

Just calling it like I see it. I love Jimmy Graham playing for the Saints.

Alaska - You may be on the money with this. There is a reason the Saints do not generally rip up contracts in mid term. Injury is a major factor, and you are right, Graham has a back issue. Let him play out his current contract and we shall see what tomorrow brings.

Trade for whom? For what? (ok, I channeled Ricky Waters, but I digress).

Dude's arguably the best TE in the NFL. As for "peaking too early", I don't get it. You want to wait 5 years down the road so he "peaks"?
