Saints Linebackers Suffer Injuries and a Suspention

Lofton will not play opening day nor will Hawthorne, 6 to 8 weeks is the normal recovery time for a high ankle sprain so I would be happy to see Lofton by week 4. Hawthorne will end up missing 4 weeks and be back for week 2 hopefully. I would be shocked if we had both for opening day. We will need to move Wilson back to LB, and should look at bringing is Shawn Merriman or Joey Porter.

"It's speculation now that they will be out for the first game," Vitt said. "We certainly think Curtis will be ready for the first game. The diagnosis for David has been encouraging. He hurt it early in the (Jaguars) game, and he played on it. He's got a chance to be back for that game."

You know how the Saints are. Vitt is no different than SP and he will keep the injury concerns to himself. Anyone remember how many times we heard P.Thomas was going to come back in 2010? Doubt either of them plays week 1.
