Many of us have been preaching against Roger, even since before all this bounty nonsense, because his method is hard handed and he leads as if he is beyond reproach. I think it's pretty clear Roger does NOT know what is in the best interest of the league. He seems to think slapping players with fines and suspensions and proclaiming that the NFL cares about safety is enough. He's been doing this since his first Congressional hearing and his mantra hasn't changed.

His failure, in my opinion, is his arrogance and his inability to see this is about people as much as it is about money. The NFL was far too heavy-handed when dealing with the players during the negotiations for the latest CBA. The leagues insistence that Roger remain all-powerful is evidence of it's agenda in my opinion.

The NFL had the opportunity to do the right thing a long time ago and might even have reached some sort of settlement with the players and their lawsuit but instead, under Roger's guidance, has chosen the cover-up and catch-up route, but it's far more transparent than he ever imagined, because he too damned arrogant to see it.

For the sake of the NFL and for the game we all love, Roger simply must go. Every time he acts it seems to blow up in his face. At some point (and I think we're beyond it), this trend becomes a real problem and the owners are simply going to HAVE to act. Sooner rather than later is my take...
