Very true

Only thing is our offense won us atleast 12 games last season, not to much to ask for the D to step up once in a while

No doubt, and I probably should have clarified I think the San Fran loss was a total team effort.

I wanted to point out the defense wasn't solely to blame.

And BTW: The 2011 draft included 5 defensive picks, and 1 offensive pick (Ingram)

Ingram is going to have a big year. I see him winding up with about 1300 rushing yards. I know that is a not a realistic prediction, based on the fact the Saints use a running game by committee strategy, but something tells me Ingram is going to be something special. And yes, even if Ingram gets 1300, I guarantee that both Sproles and Thomas breaks the 500 yard mark.

The score box did not tell the tale about how well we did against SF Defense (minus the fumbles)...

You put up 472 total yards against ANY defense and they are no longer "great".

What killed us was 5 turnovers, and Greg Frikken Williams... That 28 yard round the end TD that Smith had... Blitz he says.... get the QB he says... Stack left he says....

Smith goes right..

Unless Vilma made the call on the field?

Lining up a hurt FB at HB in the playoff game against Seattle after the 6th or 7th HB to get a carry late that season was a BIG problem. They had a chance to get a great back, Heisman Trophy winner, and a great guy late in the first round and they took it. It didn't pay off big last season, but he will be worthy of the choice.

My thing with Ingram is that some people seem fixated with throwing him under the bus like it's do or die RIGHT NOW....I think we need to give him some time. Pierre Thomas is not gonna last forever, and when Drew is 36,37, 38 years old and Sproles is 34, I want Drew to be able to hand the ball off once in a while to somebody really solid and reliable who can run the ball. And that somebody is most likely going to be a seasoned veteran RB named Mark Ingram, who will hopefully be hitting his peak just as Sproles and Thomas fade. So I kinda see him as runner up for 2016-17 Saints MVP, after Brees.
