Re: SEVERE WEATHER ALERT --- ISAAC HEADS UP
good to see we're paying attention.... Also good that you guys know the drill, and you know where to get real information, not hype.
I about half ashamed of the way Houston Media is dealing with this, already invoking the K-word, and all the hype that people who dont really know about New Orleans say. Please understand that most people on the air in Houston are not FROM Texas, much less the Gulf Coast. |

Graci.
If it were just the wife and I, we'd probably stay and get drunk. This storm should be nothing honestly. However, better safe than sorry... plus I've been wanting to get out of town. Got to work til noon... then I'm off into the sunset! |

Re: SEVERE WEATHER ALERT --- ISAAC HEADS UP
Yeah, this sucks.
People already going crazy on the West Bank last night & this morning. Gas, bread, etc. has been gone for hours. I've already told the boss I ain't working Tuesday night / Wednesday morning (I work the graveyard shift). I've got no intention of sitting in NOLA waiting on this thing, even if it turns out to be a big wuss. If that's the case ... well, I've got some extra water, beer & beenie weenies if y'all want some! Me, wifey & doggie will be hunkered in Gonzales. |

Even though this is going to be a relatively weak hurricane, it is going to be a strengthing hurricane on landfall. This is going to make it much worse. During Katrina, new orleans experienced gust 90 to 100 mph. Big difference between gusts and sustained winds. Especially for the time frame we are looking at. It's going to be a ruff ride! |
