You Know You Are A Saints Fan When

This is an old thread I found here from 2004. Most of us have heard these before, and apparently, its origins
are under dispute. I would ignore the flaming on the last couple of posts-- not really what I wanted to highlight. I dont care where they came from. Im guessing there are numerous authors, and numerous versions, so just like with gumbo, I dont know that anyone could really take full credit.

But I just thought I'd give us some perspective, especially on the ones that tell about how desperate our chances of playoffs were. Some of these are so true they hurt. Most of them just make me laugh.

You know you are a Saints fan when you plan your fall vacation to a city that the Saints just happen to be playing in on that Sunday. -our honeymoon was in N.O. Ravens game.

You know you are a Saints fan when you lock your doors for safety in your suburban neighborhood subdivision but park 12 blocks from the dome to save twenty bucks and walk.

You know you are a Saints fan when you force your wife to dress as a saintsation on game day.

You know you are a Saints fan when you can spell fleur de lis and lagniappe but cant spell your favorite beer budwiser.

You know you are a Saints fan when you refuse your wifes consolation offer after a loss because YOU have a headache.

This is how my brother proved in creds:
You know you're a Saints fan, when you're a University of Florida alumnus living in Charlotte, and the weekend of BCS Bowl and the panthers-Cardinals playoff game, you wear an Arizona tee-shirt to work because the panthers losing is more important than your alma mater winning the national championship!

I've seen those before here and there... most of them are very generic and would apply to any fan of any team. We should start a list of true Saints related lines.

uh uh, no way, Toby--- a lot of these only work in New Orleans, for instance:

--if you can listen to "the point after" without an interpreter. (aint nobody else got a Cajun Cannon)

Sure a lot of them work, but most of them are generic enough..
