Re: Could we trade Pierre to the Lions?
No. We need every back we have. We have a history of injury at that position and cannot afford to lose anyone. Each back offers a different skill set and used together on the field really helps our passing game. This is why I think we keep both Cadet and Ivory but there you deal with injury and a question mark, and hell we don't even know what we have in Ingram yet, to early to tell. We definitely need to hold onto PT. I wouldn't even trade for a 1st round pick. Especially the way we draft in the first. When Pierre went out against SF we all got to see how important he is to our offense.

I've seen plenty of interviews with the H/C & GM, where while they openly admit they're attempting to follow the Patriots/Saints template, they just feel they're primarily going to pass and the running game is mainly there as a distraction and the occassional third-and-short situation ... it's short-sighted and a strategy I totally disagree with and always point to the Saints offense as an example of what I think the Lions offense potentially could, or should, be. All's I can think is that after years of having Barry Sanders and not winning a thing, they've decided to move in a different direction ... but all that was mismanagement, not Barry's fault, the Lions need a back like PT and need to stop shopping at the Bargain Basement for their RB's ... alright, enough Lions' Insider information, I still think we're gonna' see a Saints/Lions NFC Championship here in a season or two and can't reveal all their weaknesses, .

I'm telling you guys, don't get sold on the hype, Suh is overrated ... Fairley is the guy you'd want in a trade for a defensive down lineman ... he's gonna' be bigger then Suh, mark my words.
... in a heartbeat, Crusader, in a heartbeat ... besides, New Orleans would actually find a true NFL'er with that pick, whereas Detroit has a hard time spotting those 'diamonds-in-the-rough' that are still left that late in the draft. |

Let me ask this. Would we trade PT for the kommisar's immediate dismissal and Sean being back on the sidelines? Totally hypothetical of course.

Re: Could we trade Pierre to the Lions?
if anyone has to go let it be ingram. thomas has the second highest yards per attempt average on the team at 4.8. he also catches well out of the backfield. and we know he is a danger to break one at any moment. although ivory used mostly for the hard to gain yards actually has the highest yards per attempt at 5.0. on any other team ivory is 1000+ yard rusher. i dont want to lose him, but i think when his contract comes due we lose him anyway to someone who will pay him much more money and give him a bigger role in the offense. cadet show some promise and we know we struck gold with sproles. but ingram, doesnt really fit and he wasnt shy about saying he wasnt thrilled with his role in our offense. he feels that he could and should be an every down back, and i agree. so let him go somewhere else and do it. then maybe we can give ivory more money and keep him as well as thomas who i think comes due at the end of this year.

I wouldn't trade PT. But if I had to, it would be for a 1st and a 3rd in 2013 and a conditional pick in 2014.

Ingram never said he wasn't thrilled with his role, he said he thinks he can be an everydown RB in this league, meaning running, short yardage, receiving and 3rd down. And Ingram isn't making much money at all. PT is signed thru 2014. |
