Saints report: WR Lance Moore poised for bigger role
METAIRIE, La.—Expect receiver Lance Moore to be an even bigger part of the New Orleans Saints' offense now that Robert Meachem is gone.
Moore is having another terrific preseason, catching everything thrown his way—whether through traffic or over the top. And he has traditionally always stepped into a bigger role whenever another receiver has gone down. Back in 2008, when top receiver Marques Colston was battling injuries, Moore caught 79 passes for 928 yards and 10 touchdowns. Then over the past two years, even with all four of the Saints’ top receivers healthy and tight end Jimmy Graham and running back Darren Sproles emerging in the passing game, Moore still caught eight touchdown passes in both 2011 and 2012.
