Re: This is the worst I have seen this team in years.
The window is closing. The Saints peaked, and are declining, ESPECIALLY the defense.
This team is no better than last year's team, and, there will be no Superbowl win for New Orleans until the Saints can field an NFL defense. Again, the window is closing, as Drew Brees ages. |

Re: This is the worst I have seen this team in years.
Penalties ruined any gameplan we had by putting us in difficult down and distance situations but you have to run the ball more than 10 times, have to find a way to make it happen. I can't believe we didn't run more screens, quick outs/hitches, quick slants, quick timing routes that beat the blitz and puts the D back on their heels a bit. Our O never established any rhythm and the D sure didn't make any meaningful stops. The PI in the endzone on 4th and 1 was a huge momentum crusher, it was a bad call but it didn't lose the game for us. We didn't play well enough to win, period! Everyone can shoulder the blame for this one! You can't expect to lose a coach of Payton's caliber and expect the beat to just go on like nothing happened! Brees is pissed and embarassed, hopefully everyone else is embarassed too, and we need some leadership to step up and right the ship!

This was just one of the worse games we have seen in the dome in a while. As a whole, we still put 32 points on the board and most times that gets it done. |
