Article: Saints Week 1: Where Suck Happens
Just when I thought having a chip on your shoulder, winning a battle with the NFL, a $100 million contract and opening the season in front of a fired up hometown crowd would be enough to will the Saints to victory, then came kickoff…
It’s hard to believe the Saints came out so flat in their home opener. Taking nothing away from the Redskins and the poised play of Robert Griffin III, it’s unimaginable that the best the Saints could muster up against a team that went 5-11 in 2011 was a replay performance of their heartbreaking loss to the Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers last season. Just like last year, this year’s game went down to the wire. Unlike last year, we didn’t give one up to one of the best teams in the league. We let a rookie QB have his way with us and when he wasn’t abusing us, we were abusing ourselves Saints Week 1: Where Suck Happens |

Re: Article: Saints Week 1: Where Suck Happens
Just like in the game against the Rams last year, we got our asses handed to us by a team that by all means shouldn't have. It was hard to watch and it's still hard to swallow. However, they did deserve to win and if we would have come back to win it, we wouldn't have deserved it. Good job Washington, enjoy the win. Congratulations on RG3, he looked good. If you guys get to the post-season somehow, pray you don't have to play us again.

Suck is not the word. We looked like CRAP & I am being nice. Drew looked uncomfortable, the oline sucked, the running game - sucked. The recievers dopped balls OR DRew floated passes.
IT WAS FRIPPEN UGLY!!! We shot ourselves in the foot (feet) so many times I am surprised anyone on the team can even limp much less walk!! |

The only thing missing in the fired up home opener was a coaching staff. These guys were put in a very rough position. New defensive coordinator, Pete at least has some O calling hours in. But the pivot spot with Aaron Kromer is the killer, hard to step into Coach Paytons shoes. Joe Vitt will help coming in at game seven but even then he has to hit the ground running when he arrives.

Yeah, we sucked...............
It's a new D coordinator and it's going to take some time for the defense to gel. Hopefully, the O-line gets more unity and allows the defense time to learn the system. |

"However, they did deserve to win and if we would have come back to win it, we wouldn't have deserved it."
Would you have felt the same way if instead of losing to the 40-whiners in the playoffs last year, the defense stopped them from scoring the GW TD and the Saints won despite turning the ball over multiple times in the 1st half? I would have been just as proud of my Saints if they had re-grouped and won the game yesterday, then I would have been if they dominated the game like they did against the Colts last year! This is why the games are played; you just never know how things WILL turn out! But as Saints fans, we shouldn't read too much into yesterday's game. We knew the Saints weren't going to go 16-0 this year; no team in the league is going to feel sorry for out organization because of the situation we are in, whether our fault or not! It is better that the Saints got a small taste of the bitter pill known as DEFEAT, now, instead of the dosage and form they got last year!! |

We were not that far off, the bad pass interference call and Marques holds that catch and we are still in it. The part that is disturbing is giving up the
40 points. |
