Hicks?
From what we saw in the Preseason he looked like the best DT we had on the team. Now during the regular season I have only see him take 1 snap (and he made the tackle on the play). What I really don't understand is Tom Johnson seems to be getting more playing time (passing situations Bunckley comes out, Johnson goes in).
Why, oh, why is Johnson getting playing time over Hicks. Vet or not Johnson has never done anything to impress and I think we can all agree that Hicks is the future at DT, but he needs playing time to develop. |

Re: Hicks?
Good question. I think the answer is experience. Johnson has it Hicks does not. Hicks has more potential but right now, Spags feels Hicks is just not ready. That will likely change however if we keep giving up over 30pts a game. If that continues look to see more of Hicks because it won't matter at that point.

Re: Hicks?
Johnson has flashed some ability. Both he and Hicks have graded out in the positive when it comes to rushing the passer. We should see more of both... especially if Ellis continues to show he's dead weight.

I wouldn't mind seeing him get more play time.

Re: Hicks?
We should see both on the field starting the game could care less what Spuds thinks. The only way Ellis will be a dominating DT is if someone taped a doughnut or Twinkie to the QB's helmet, really don't think that will happen so he should come in to relieve on occasion and cut at year end.

Re: Hicks?
Seriously man the nfl is a business now sure teams still want to "win" but the only reason why smith and Ellis still start is because they make the bigger pay check. Why would a business owner bench the guy who he's paying the most? For instance if Brees went out and threw a pick every play every down every remaining game. Do u think we would see chase Daniel? I don't cause we're paying him $40,000,000 dollars this season. Just wouldn't be a "smart business move" the owners don't care about the fans and how we feel. They wanna play and work the players they are playing plain and simple. It's all business now. It's a shame but it is what it is. Of it were me I'd start gallett Bunkley hicks Tez Wilson. Cassillas Lofton Hawthorne. Greer and Robinson are solid because those front four would generate pressure. And I'd take Jenkins and Abdul-quddos

Re: Hicks?
I think we'd all agree our coaches know who our best players are and they're gonna play who they think gives usd the best chance to win.
But I'd damn sure love to know why they think a certain few players give us that better chance. |

Sometimes it's better to cut your losses to make more in the long run.
Please don't compare Drew's situation to that of someone like Sedric ( Twinkie) Ellis. |
