The Spagnola Scheme
Perhaps this is not the opportune year to implement Spags complicated defense. Just "maybe" there is too much going on for this? What about a 3-4 so we have an extra line backer, we do not seem to be putting pressure on the QB or stopping the RB at the line very often, why not drop one back and try to keep them to 2-3 yards?
In best case scenarios, none of which we have presently, it took defenses 3-4 games to pick it up. When I say Best case scenario:

Re: The Spagnola Scheme
scheme might not be right because our players on defense is not that good to begin with.
One of the glaring problems I see with our defense is they are freaking slow, one reason why they couldnt contain run option QBs like Newton and RGIII and allowed JC to run it 33 times for over 200 yards. Running JC 33 times kind of tells you the weakness of the defense is speed. |

Re: The Spagnola Scheme
So wait; you're saying switch to a 3-4 defense this year and then switch back to Spags zone scheme next year?
Looks like a lot more learning to me, bad idea... |

Re: The Spagnola Scheme
I don't think changing up from one to the other and back is a good idea. But I agree with you on the effect this offseason has had on the team. I just think it's been too much to ask any human being to endure and then go out and perform at the level we have been accustomed to seeing. Goodell knew what he was doing and his plan is working to perfection.

Work with me LOL... I'm fishing here for ways to not set records this year. |

Re: The Spagnola Scheme
but they allowed JC to beat them.
The KC offense is very anemic to begin with and they scored 27 pts. Albeit they didnt score TDs but 1, but most of that is because Cassel has no accuracy, otherwise it would of been worse. |

Probably because the RedZone is more condensed and its difficult for our players to wander off away from the ball... |
