BY THE NUMBERS: $15,000 -- Amount of money that separates Saints officials and rookie wide receiver Devery Henderson from reaching contractual agreement. Henderson and his agent, Jimmy Sexton, are seeking a signing bonus of $1.425 million and team officials have offered $1.41 million. Henderson has missed the first nine practices.

Can you say IDIOT! Sexton should be fired. Henderson is losing valuable practice time over $15,000?! :o

$15,000 will cause Henderson to sit his butt on the bench all season.
An organization is going to make you an instant millionaire and you're

My sentiments exactly he is not as good as he thinks he is. Yeah he is fast but I bet there is some one on the team a little fasterÃƒÂ¢Ã¢Â‚Â¬Ã‚Â¦. This guy is just stupid. We could have got a better player with a better ego then what we got! For example here are a few that come to my mind that would have helped us out ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢Â‚Â¬Ã‚Â¦Dontarrious Thomas, Keiwan Ratliff, Mike Boulware, Sean Jones, Greg Jones, or Shawntae Spencer any of those guys would have been an asset to us.

Hey, just charge him $1,000.00 a day for each day of camp he misses. That\'ll take care of his $15,000.00 quick.

If I was the Saints at this point in the position they are in at WR depth.....I would give his agent one last time to sign and then start lowering my offer by 5k every day. \"Hey Devery...today if you sign i will give you 1.395 mil to sit on the bench all year! No? Ok talk to you tomorrow and offer 1.390.\" Signing bonuses should not be given now that training camp is halfway over... he wasnt even the best reciever on his college team!

How many people in here think that alot of the players are over payed......I for one do, but I also think that about all Pro sports. Its just stupid how much money these guys get handed to them to play a sport. But now to my point The Saints shouldn\'t give him the money, Devery can\'t catch the ball but about half the time anyway. And what he and his agent fail to realize is that in this day of contracts and contract disputes he wants to worry about 15k that he will loose any way in his incentive based contract. He should shutup sign the contract that makes him a millionaire and not worry about 15k. What the should do is let him sit and think about \"Holding Out\". Maybe they should give his agent the NFL exam and see what he scores!

Hey 26, I had to go back and read everyone\'s post and I did not see the word depth mentioned once. I did mention the fact that we have alot of good receivers in camp already. Whether or not they have or will step up in the future remains to be seen. I do not think that if Henderson does\'nt come to camp or even plays the entire year our chances will be hurt in winning games.

I do think he can make the Saints a better team because he does have talent, but I don\'t think he is helping himself or most importantly the TEAM by squabbling over $15,000.00. This does not appear to me to be a good way to start your career. If he is complaining about 15k now, what will it be next, the color jock strap he has to wear or the size of his locker. Don\'t you think the longer he is out the more resentment the entire team will have towards him, not to mention the fans.

The agent is to blame just as much as Henderson. I think we need to set the example for all players, in all sports, that if you are not a team player, you don\'t play!

That 15, 000 may seem silly to the outsider, but it could be very important to any nfl rookie...
for example, that 15 large could by one spinning 20 inch rim for his new pimped out Escalade... gold caps for his dogs teeth... the entire girls gone wild series for himself and all his peeps...
or a down payment on a new agent that won\'t screw up his career...

if he continues to hold out, who\'s going to be there to carry Joe\'s and Donte\'s bags...

Unfortunately, he was too high a pick to put him on the practice squad. It\'s a shame that one of our guys out there who is truly working hard to earn a spot is probably going to be cut so we can keep Henderson even though he would rather haggle over $15k than get in camp.

ps. NOLAmite, that\'s a fine line you\'re walking in your post between humorous/crude behavior and overtly offensive behavior. I\'m no moderator at this site, but I think a majority of this site\'s patrons are not going to applaud your racial stereotyping.

Like I said, your post is in that \"gray\" area of whether it is or not offensive, but my advoce to you is one of caution. I, for one, want this site to be as friendly and open as possible.
