Don't throw in the towel just yet...
Since 2004 when Eli was traded to NY Giants, I have followed him and the Giants closely. In 2007, the year that the Giants knocked off the Pats in the SB and stopped them from going 19-0, the Giants started dismally. They were 0-2, and somewhere around that time I stated that the Giants defense was the worst defense I had seen in all my time of watching the NFL...and that included watching the Saints since the beginning.
Almost immediately after I made that statement, the defense gelled and started playing a lot better, and the rest is history. I think it may take some time for the players to pick up Spags scheme, but I do believe the possibility exists that they too can put it together and make a run. Time will tell, but after what I witnessed in '07, I will never count anyone out until they are mathematically eliminated. |
