Devery Henderson signs four-year deal with Saints

Second round draft pick Devery Henderson, who didnÃƒÂ¢Ã¢Â‚Â¬Ã¢Â„Â¢t ingratiate himself to team management with his holdout, was signed to a four-year contract Friday.

Henderson was expected to participate in the clubÃƒÂ¢Ã¢Â‚Â¬Ã¢Â„Â¢s workout Friday night.

Henderson will be competing for playing time at a position where the club is already deep. Returning players Joe Horn, Donte Stallworth, Jerome Pathon and Michael Lewis are pretty much guaranteed roster spots, as is Henderson. However, his playing time could depend on how fast he grasps the system.

Henderson played running back at LSU until his final two seasons there.

He had 53 catches for 861 yards and 11 touchdowns in LSUÃƒÂ¢Ã¢Â‚Â¬Ã¢Â„Â¢s championship season.

let\'s just hope the holdout isn\'t indicative of an attitude problem, i\'m not of big fan of drafting players from teams that won championships the year before even if they are hometown guys

the last thing we need is another WR with an attitude

It\'s about damn time. I agree with you Rusta, I hope this is not a preview of things to come from Henderson.

Did the Saint\'s give him the 15k in pennies! I hope not at all.

With our WR\'s showing alot of promise in camp, I think he finally realized that the longer he waited the harder it was going to get for him to even make the roster and if he would have sat out the entire year it would have been very difficult for any team to take a chance on him next year.

The absence of financial details in the PR is evidence that both sides found a happy medium or compromise. After taking a few \"hits\" his attitude will change to one of being in the NFL. WELCOME Devery to the world of BIG TIME HITS. :P
