I'll rephrase then- PT needs to get the ball more!! The split carries sucks! I'm think the other backs come in to give PT a breather, and that's it. I won't write off Ingram because who knows what he could do if he got the ball more than 4 times a game.

I'll agree with that. But PT didn't do any better than Mark the last two games and didn't do much tonight until the 4th quarter.

The still both ended up with about the same average rushing.

Last night's game is the perfect example of stats not telling the whole story. PT was the spark that got the engine rolling last night. Colston was awesome but PT wins the "MVP Not Named Drew" award this week.

I say feed him the rock and let him get those hard yards, it helps to set up the screen and maybe it'll get ingram more involved.

Committing to the run tonight was so huge. I loved it.

What our play callers don't seem to keep in mind is that even if we're only getting 2 yards/play, running the ball starts to wear-down d-lines.

If we would keep pounding the ball with PT and Ingram maybe we could actually get Drew some time to throw long balls instead of having to rush the short throws that wind up getting picked...

RB's have to get into a groove. It often takes them 10 to 15 carries to find their rythym. We gotta run early and often.

Pierre Thomas is the guy that if you really need to, you can put the whole team on his shoulders, and he will CARRY THEM DOWN THE FIELD , for a little while. If you give him the ball he can TAKE A GAME OVER, for a drive or two drives, and I think the non-Payton coaches FINALLY remembered that tonight. It wasn't really number of carries, or that he wore the defense down, or even that he is really THAT good -- it was that Pierre TOOK **** OVER and became untackle-able, when they fed him the ball.

It's not a stat I can point to, concretely, but I felt like there were a lot less of the "panicky" or "jittery" pass/pass/pass 3 and outs tonight, when we were behind. There were some, in the game, but once Pierre got involved, passing and running, things really calmed down. It's kinda what I had been waiting for.

You would think that the guy we drafted by trading back in the first round a couple of years ago would be our starting RB by now. We all know who that is. As far as PT goes, he has been the best RB so far.
