I think those carries that PT got down the stretch is what really broke down the Chargers defense. He may not have been getting large bulks of yards, but he was grinding them down with some of the toughest runs I've seen from a Saints back since Deuce was healthy. That last long drive the Saints put up had the Chargers offense on the sideline seething and they were there long enough to have to think about what they needed to do to come back and win (which isn't always a good thing). It also gave the Saints defense time to rest up so they could get on the field and pin their ears back in getting after Rivers. When the Chargers got back on offense, they had penalties that hurt them and you could tell they weren't playing with their heads on straight because they were looking for penalties against the Saints every single play. PT's runs, Drew's timely passes, and protecting the football on that last drive were the things that helped finish off the Chargers.

We looked our normal selves last night, offense was unpredictable mixing run and pass well

The big screen to Pierre was a huge play, Pierre is crucial to our offense getting going

When you got a fresh stable of horses - you keep your horses fresh by not running them into the ground one by one...

Well if you don't let the horses run they get tired and weak. I don't think he's ever gotton 20 touches a game. What I do know is that he is a playmaker and you feed your playmakers.

How do all of those other teams that have two backs manage to keep them fresh?

Not every team gets a Jackson/Foster (injured a bit)/Peterson/Gore...

You also cant workhorse the screen 20 times a game.. Thats where PT shines.

I love when PT and Sproles are both in the game at the same time. Last night the Chargers commited to stopping Sproles. Put PT in at the same time and it opens up. Kept putting Sproles wide, pulls one out of the box, opens for PT.

I think they're just trying to keep him fresh (and healthy) but I agree with the premise that he needs to be getting the lion's share of the carries. I like Sproles a lot, but he obviously wasn't getting it done early yesterday. I'd rather see Sproles sprinkled in throughout the game.

I agree fully. MI has been MIA. I think they should put him on inactive and bring up the bull. We need a shot in the running game.
