BUT I want Payton to be the one to come back and unpack them and sort them out and arrange them when he gets back. I mean if you have ever seen a little kid, can you imagine if they got rid of one of his toys, while he was away, even one he never uses or doesn't like? It'd be murder.
Which is exactly why Ingram is not going anywhere. Im with Fin, I'd rather move Ingram and get a good pick.

Ivory for a 7th? Why not?

Hell, I'd piss on a spark plug if I thought it would help...

Re: Ivory for a 7th rounder?

Ivory's contribution this year is still a QUESTION MARK. He's the only player on the team with a 5.0 lifetime YPC who has not contributed this year and all we can do is continue to talk about is fumbles and injuries?

Colston fumbles.
Moore is constantly injured.
Graham is constantly injured.
P.T. was the last of our RB's to be injured.
Hell, even that CHUMP Hartley has been injured since Ivory.

Colston does make the occasional fumble, but I think that side of his game has been overly emphasized and flat out over-exaggerated.

Marquis Colston

2006: 115 catches, 0 fumbles
2007: 144 catches, 1 fumble
2008: 88 catches, 1 fumble
2009: 107 catches, 2 fumbles
2010: 132 catches, 0 fumbles
2011: 107 catches, 1 fumble
2012: 70 catches, 1 fumble [week 8]

So, that is an average of a fumble per 127 catches. I can certainly live with that percentage, and based on that alone I find it hard to support the statement that he has a problem with fumbles.

"Lifetime"? You mean the two partial seasons he's played in, right?

The difference between Ivory and the ones you named is that the others actually produce - CONSISTENLY

I would not trade Ivory, Ingram didn't shine prior to Bounty Gate so why trade Ivory. with his YPC what's the reason? PT moved out Pittman why can't Ingram be done the same?

I guess the idea behind that move would be the fact that his contract is up at the end of this season, and so if they don't think they can re-sign him - why wouldn't they trade him in order to get something in return?!

I think he's a RFA so we can slap a late round tender on him and keep him cheap or get a pick.

I forget what the tender levels are now.

Yeah, you're right. I thought that he was an UFA, but after your comment I checked it again, and he is indeed a RFA, so he could be had on the cheap once again.

Re: Ivory for a 7th rounder?

The backup running back averages 5.0 and he can't get in the game. You don't find that ridiculous?

Do you think I don't know how many seasons Ivory has been with the Saints or that he has been injured in both seasons? REALLY?

So with the same sarcastic, caustic demeanor that you guys address Ivory I'll say that if P.T. weren't so fragile we may have won in San Francisco and may have gone to the Super Bowl. LOL And he coughed up the ball when the lights went out as well. That covers both points that you bring about Ivory... IN ONE PLAY. LOL

I love P.T. and his contribution, regardless of whether he's having a good day, and I would NOT trade P.T. for Ivory under any circumstance.

I'm not rooting for Ivory to take over the backfield, just get the man in the game. He deserves that for what he has done for us in the last TWO years that he has been with the Saints... injured.
