Yeah, but he had two hands on the top/side of the ball and was using the ground for control, doesn't he have to have something underneath the ball?

Thanks for digging that up ... fingers are below the seams but the ball is contacting the ground also? ... I guess I'll just be glad it wasn't a game-changer and the replacement refs weren't around to award the Eagles a safety or something on the play,
