this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Thank god that mess is over for 4 years....on the wildcard yes, I know, anything is still possible, but say we beat the Falcons, would you seriously believe we had a shot at the wildcard or mildly entertain the thought? ...

"Forward" Road to the Wildcard
Thank god that mess is over for 4 years....on the wildcard yes, I know, anything is still possible, but say we beat the Falcons, would you seriously believe we had a shot at the wildcard or mildly entertain the thought?
I for one believe we would have a real shot considering the rest of the schedule. I figure there is room to drop 1-2 games but I'm looking at the 49'ers and they are coming off a Mon night game against the Bears. I don't see them playing at a high level. When we play the Falcons again they may start taking the pedal off the gas. Those are the only two games I would be concerned about. The rest of the teams are beatable even with our "Pewter Curtain" defense. I think we can do this. |

I definitely still believe this team can do it, and I'll continue to believe they can do it as long as there is the mathematical chance for them to make the playoffs.

I would, but we have to beat the Giants and SF. That's tough.

Re: "Forward" Road to the Wildcard
NYG doesn't really seem that strong this year, nor did they last year, so I think the 49ers and the Failclowns games are the hardest ones on the remaining schedule. ...and I'd be more worried about the 49ers if the game was at Candlestick. |

Getting to a wild-card game is not appealing when you figure we will probably pull an Atlanta habit and be one and done with our recent road game history.

Re: "Forward" Road to the Wildcard
It's not going to be easy and we have little room for more errors. However, if the Giants 2 recent Super Bowl victories have taught us anything, it's that getting hot at the right time can be much more important than looking fabulous all season long.
