Payton’s contract might not be resolved quickly
Given that the Saints have permission to finalize their contract extension with coach Sean Payton now and that no other team can talk to him until his suspension ends after the Super Bowl, Payton’s current employer has a huge advantage when it comes to the question of continuing his employment.

I'm sure Payton wants to talk about the money he lost this year. He took a hit for the team. How much of a hit had not been determined yet. Goodell did say he may allow Payton to recoup some . If Payton was even considering other offers he wouldn't have signed the extension in the first place. I don't really see a problem. Just media build up before his return.
