That was a HUGE win on Monday Night Football! Now, the Saints look to host the (currently) undefeated Atlanta Falcons in the Mercedes Benz Superdome. The house will be packed, and the atmosphere will be electric.

Before we get to that game, let's take a look around the league to see what's happening, and how those games may impact the Saints' chances for the postseason:

Bye Week for: Browns, Cardinals, Packers, and Redskins

Thursday October 8th

Week 10, Game 1: Colts @ Jaguars

N/A: AFC opponents

Sunday November 11th

Week 10, Game 2: Chargers (4-4) @ Buccaneers (4-4)

a. Why it is important: Bucs are a division rival.

b. Desired outcome: Pull for the Chargers. Bucs are currently ahead of the Saints in the standings, but already have four (4) losses vs. NFC opponents.

c. Confidence factor for a good outcome: 4.5 out of 10

Week 10, Game 3: Titans @ Dolphins
N/A: AFC opponents

Week 10, Game 4: Bills @ Patriots
N/A: AFC opponents

Week 10, Game 5: Raiders @ Ravens
N/A: AFC opponents

Week 10, Game 6: Broncos (5-3) @ Panthers (2-6)

a. Why it is important: Panthers are a division rival.

b. Desired outcome: Pull for the Broncos. Panthers have the potential to run the ball on any opponent. But they have been inconsistent, and get rattled too soon. Peyton Manning should be able to carve up the Panthers’ secondary, while McGahee and other RB’s keep the Panthers’ defense off balance.

c. Confidence factor for a good outcome: 6 out of 10

Week 10, Game 7: Giants (6-3) @ Bengals (3-5)

a. Why it is important: Giants are an NFC rival.

b. Desired outcome: Pull for the Bengals. Giants are starting to get their mojo going, and were set back with a loss last week. Rain is in the forecast this weekend @ Cincy, and turnovers may be a problems. Let’s hope the home team sneaks out with a win in this one.

c. Confidence factor for a good outcome: 3.5 out of 10

Week 10, Game 8: Lions (4-4) @ Vikings (5-4)

a. Why it is important: Both teams are NFC rivals, and this game has playoff implications.

b. Desired outcome: Pull for the Lions. Both teams have three (3) losses to NFC opponents, and that will play BIG as we enter the second half of the season. Vikings have the better W-L record right now, so let’s hope they get knocked down a peg.

c. Confidence factor for a good outcome: 4.5 out of 10

Week 10, Game 9: Falcons (8-0) @ Saints (3-5)

a. Why it is important: Falcons are a division rival, and currently lead the NFC South with a perfect 8-0 record. Should the Saints emerge victorious, this game has the potential of rattling the Falcons, who will likely receive an EARFUL of criticism the following week from the sports talking heads (and the Atlanta talk shows & newspaper, who are usually brutal after they lose).

b. Desired outcome: We’re hoping for a best-case scenario, which gives us a Saints victory in this one. Then, the Falcons have the Cardinals (who will be coming off a BYE), and Bucs (in front of HOSTILE fans in Tampa) before playing the Saints AGAIN on Thursday night three weeks later! If (and that’s a “big IF”) the Saints win on Sunday, and the next two, while the Falcons go on a skid and lose their following two, the rematch at Atlanta (on Thursday night) would have the 6-5 Saints at the 8-3 Falcons. If that happened, boy oh boy! WhoDat, Baby!

c. Confidence factor for a good outcome: 5.5 out of 10 (this will be a BRUTAL game)!

Week 10, Game 10: Jets (3-5) @ Seahawks (5-4)

a. Why it is important: Seahawks are an NFC rival.

b. Desired outcome: Seahawks are in the thick of the playoff hunt, and are playing at home (which is tough for any opponent). Obviously, pull for the Jets. If it comes down to a defensive struggle, the Jets will likely win. But if it is a shootout, Russell Wilson and the Seahawks have the advantage.

c. Confidence factor for a good outcome: 4 out of 10

Week 10, Game 11: Cowboys (3-5) @ Eagles (3-5)

a. Why it is important: Both teams are NFC rivals.

b. Desired outcome: Saints currently own the tiebreaker with the Eagles. But the Saints play the Cowboys later this year. It’s a toss up, but I say pull for the Eagles. They feel they were embarrassed on MNF, and Andy Reid will want them to come out fired-up for the ‘Boys.

c. Confidence factor for a good outcome: 5.5 out of 10

Week 10, Game 12: Rams (3-5) @ 49’ers (6-2)

a. Why it is important: Both teams are NFC rivals.

b. Desired outcome: Pull for the Rams to upset the 49’ers. Fat chance, but you never know.

c. Confidence factor for a good outcome: 2.5 out of 10

Week 10, Game 13: Texans (7-1) @ Bears (7-1)

a. Why it is important: Bears are an NFC rival. Bears are atop the NFC North, and have their eyes set on a 1st round bye in the playoffs. We still have a lot of football left before that is settled, but they are in a pretty decent position right now to start thinking about it.

b. Desired outcome: Pull for the Texans.

c. Confidence factor for a good outcome: 5.5 out of 10

Monday, November 12th (Monday Night Football)

Week 10, Game 14: Chiefs @ Steelers

N/A: AFC opponents

Thanks, guys.

They will continue until we reach SB XLVII (...or, when we're mathematically-eliminated). It is my hope for the former, not the latter.

Keep pulling until there is no point in pulling.

Saints got the LAST 1990 playoff spot on the LAST DAY OF THE SEASON, and finished that season with an 8-8 record.

Some of you may be too young to remember this, but had the Saints lost, that last (Wildcard) spot would have gone to the 7-9 Dallas Cowboys.
