Travaris Cadet Made The Most Of His Playing Time In Week Nine
I thought he fumbled the ball on one his kick returns?
New Orleans Saints running back Travaris Cadet got some extended playing time in week nine against the Philadelphia Eagles. Cadet made the team with his electrifying play during the preseason but has yet to see much playing time in the regular season. However, with Darren Sproles missing the week nine contest Cadet got a chance to play. Cadet, the Saints’ number five running back, only had one carry for five yards in the Saints’ 28-13 rout of the Eagles. Despite his low rushing numbers Cadet still had a big impact on the Saints’ victory. With Sproles out Cadet stepped in as the Saints’ primary kick returner and he did not disappoint. On his three kick returns Cadet accounted for 80 yards which was good enough for a 26.7 average. Cadet’s 26.7 average helped the Saints get great field position all night and he even had a return for 30 yards. Cadet definitely made the most of his playing time and continued to show everyone why he made the team. Cadet’s versatility is such an asset for the Saints and I would even compare him to a bigger Sproles. Cadet can do everything Sproles can, maybe not as well but he is not as seasoned as Sproles is. Cadet mostly played as the kick returner and played a little at running back, but he is also capable of playing wide receiver if need be. Cadet has not gotten much playing time this year but in the time that he has played he has definitely made the most of it. If the Saints can work him into the rotation I think he can give them good production and become a great weapon for them. I had to eat a LOT of crow due to Cadet....I was hyping him up at the end of last week when I found out Sprolsies was going to be out. Man did he make me look bad here at work, LOL.
I'll give the kid the benifit of the doubt. I thought he played really well during the preseason...I think he just needs a bit more exposure to the "real" game and he could become hot again. |

Just about ball security, and knowing where to be on the field. He single handedly was worth almost a 14 pts swing when he wasn't open on the Drew Brees fumble, and caused his own fumble.
He did run with pop, especially on the like forty yard end around that got called back. |

Rookie mistake. Dont beat your self up DE, EVERYONE was begging for Cadet to play... Sproles is still out he will get a chance to pull that crow out of your chops.

He did have some good runs. It's looking like he could make Ingram expendable next year. Don't get me wrong I love Ingram but he doesn't fit the system.

He still needs some more time to develop but I think he could be a good special teams guy.

Anyone notice he ran everything out, and made it past the 20?
.... We rarely see Sproles run anything out anymore... |

He ran that end around better than Devery and Meach ever did
No hold on that play and "Da-da-da....Da-da-da" SPORTSCENTER THEME Fumble was him trying to do too much, give him some time and he's gonna be a beast. I love that he has Sproles to mentor him |
