The happiest man when the news of Tomlinson's contract hit, other than L.T. himself, had to be New Orleans running back Deuce McAllister. He has two years left on his rookie contract, but the team wants to get him signed to a long-term deal soon.
McAllister's price has gone up. "Look what I've done the last three years," McAllister said. "The numbers speak for themselves. I'm one of the best backs in the league."

Soon, he's going to be paid like it.

Note on Will Smith
Top rookies
There has been impressive play from several rookies so far in camps and in the preseason, but two who really stand out are New Orleans defensive end Will Smith and Houston cornerback Dunta Robinson. Smith, who isn't projected to be a starter with Charles Grant and Darren Howard taking those roles, will be asked to be mostly a nickel pass rusher, with Grant and Howard moving inside in passing situations.
Smith will eventually be a double-digit sack guy, and could get seven or eight this year. As for Robinson, he is starting already and has displayed a smooth style in coverage. He looks like a veteran, which is why the Texans were thrilled to get him with the 10th overall pick in this year's draft.

A few other rookies who have impressed are Carolina corner Chris Gamble, Lions linebacker Teddy Lehman, Jaguars linebacker Daryl Smith and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

There's some more good info in the article. But that was all that's Saints related...

Ok, I changed my mind about the trade with Miami/ We could send L Smith, R. Hart and T. Gardener to the Phins for Zach Thomas and maybe even throw in our number 2 2nd round pick next year.

I liked Lehman coming out of Oklahoma and thought we should have tried to get him not ahead of Smith, but certainly before Watson. I hope I\'m wrong and Watson turns out to be the best LB in NFL history, but I need to see more out of him.
