When do we cut bait on the Cie Grant experiment. The guy simply can't stay on the field. I don't care how fast he is, his knees are shot. He's taking up a roster spot in my opinion.

Cut bait on Cie
I\'m a big Cie Grant fan and I was looking foward to seeing what the guy could do. So naturally I\'m diappointed with the injury !!
I haven\'t read anything that\'s \'credible\' that says his knees are \'shot\'. Where did you hear this? I have read where Haslett is concerned whether or not he will play this year. But, you never know about those kind of statements. He might be tying to send a message to Cie. He might think Cie should be coming back quicker from the injury than what he is. Just speculation. But, you never know... As far as when to cut bait.... I leave that up to the medical staff and the coaches. They have much more to go on than I do. It is troubling that he\'s been injured and really hasn\'t been able to get on the filed. Not a good sign. [Edited on 19/8/2004 by GumboBC] |

Cut bait on Cie
Don\'t think I\'d cut loose a guy we just drafted in the third round last year, even before his 2nd season started. Imagine where we\'d be if we did that to all our draft picks.

Cut bait on Cie
I read somewhere it was inflammation of the patella tendon. Having had 4 knee operations myself, if that\'s the case, it\'s much to early to cut him. This guy has an enormous amount of potential, I wouldn\'t want to see him picked up by someone with a little patience. Would you cut Stallworth?

There\'s a lack of patience by fans today. I blame it on video games. They just plug in players for \"instant\" success and \"cut\" the players they don\'t want. Works well in video games, I hear. Then of course, you have fantasy football. I\'m scared of video football and fantasy football. Might brainwash me too. :P Put down the video games and get a job!!!!!!! I actually grew up living in the arcades. I was the \"king.\" I played ESPN NFL 2K5 the other day. It\'s unbeleiveable how realsitc that game is. You\'ve got half time reports by Chris Berman, that are very accurate. Unbelievable stuff !! I hardly ever play those games. But, they are fun !! Just joking around. |

I really believe that Cie won\'t be the starter and the way it look\'s maybe not even number two, unless he can\'t get back into practice really soon. I know the guy is talented, but four surgeries and he is still experiencing problems, it makes you wonder what decision is the right one.

Cut bait on Cie
All I am saying is, in 2000 the average career of an nfl player was 3.2 years.
http://www.newhouse.com/archive/story1b102700.html Cie had a minor knee issue in College... And now two in the Nfl in just two seasons. When I said \"his knees were shot\" I was referring to my memory of a story published by the Picayune last season, which discussed a condition in Cie\'s knee that wasn\'t debilitating... but caused pain. Pain that wouldn\'t go away with treatment, Cie would just have to play through it. Since I can\'t find that article, I understand you will all have different opinions on Cie\'s knees. All I am asking is, how many games will he sit out this year before you realize he can\'t make it physically? He only played in 7 games last season... I can\'t remember him making an impact in any of them. Then again 3 tackles is probably why. All I read on this site is how weak our LB corps is... Yet, this guy skates. I don\'t get it. Oh yeah and,, If Donte had only three catches his first season.... Yes I\'d say he was a bust too. Plus, Couldn\'t you leave everything up to the medical staff and coaches Billy? |
