My take, and I will defend it all day.

To lay this all on one person, any one person is just blind rage. The loss starts at the top.

As important as this game was:

Vitt-
When Drew threw int# 3 he should have been benched for Daniels.
In military terms - When your weapon is malfunctioning you go to another weapon. (period)

Carmicheal -
When you have a running game and PT is ave 6 YPC you don't abandon it.. You stupid man
You certainly do not abandon it for a QB that is having a very off night, not reading the field, and throwing interceptions left and right.

You blind bats that say Drew was only trying to save his streak need to come to terms with the fact that his FKN coach was making most of the play calling, and should have seen Drew having an off night and taken the remaining play calling out of his hands.


The INTs were ALL Drew, to not take the ball out of his hands and stop the madness is all COACH.

This loss is all lack of Sean Payton. Vitt and Carmicheal watched from the sidelines, as play by play the offense imploded and didn't change a thing except to put the ball into the hands of the player having the worst game of his career more.

Its easy in passionate rage to point the finger at players that are having a bad night... Try and step back and see the big picture... Try and do something our coaches on the field couldn't do...

Drew was the punctured artery, instead of stopping the bleeding, the coached started doing chest compressions making the bleeding worse.

Pete and Joe... You two need to need to learn how to react to what you see unfolding right in front of your faces. You both lack any sort of vision and neither of you is a leader.

The nail in the coffin was the abysmal clock and game management just before the 1/2. Coming out of the 1/2 against a team that pulls wins out of its azz in the 4th qtr down by two scores is what made heckle and Jeckle abandon the running game.

You are right on point about the running game - I have no idea why Carmichael abandoned it when Pierre was tearing it up. All I can attribute that to is this: Panic. A cooler, more confident coach wouldve kept pounding the rock to open up the pass. Falcons knew we were gonna pass, pass, pass - so they oinned their ears back and went after Drew.
One more thing - Strief sucked last nite. I wouldve rather had Garret Hartley playing RT.

At the rate the tackles are getting injured, we just might see Hartley at RT.

I agree, we need to start a more athletic right tackle and put Strief back into his "reporting as eligible, part-time road grader" role. Strief is just too darn big to stay in front of athletic pass rushers like Abraham.

Everything you said is exactly the reason Benson needs to give Sean Payton a blank check in the coming weeks....there would have been no clock management problems at the half, never would have abandoned the running game when getting 6yds a pop, would have took Brees aside and calmed him down after the 2nd INT and started calling some simple short routes and screens to keep it simple and pick them apart.

I just don't get why the abandoned the run....the D played their best game of the yr IMO. There was plenty of time left in that 2nd half to calm down run the ball and use play action. And I KNEW that Strief was going to be a dud coming back...there was no reason to have him on the field trying to stop Abraham on a bad groin even with chip help. And now we can honestly say that maybe Charles Brown isnt the bust we thought he was. He's quicker on his feet and more athletic and its clear that is what we need.

I can't sit here and put it ALL on Brees he takes at least 45-50% but the coaching was horrible. No awarness of the situation....relying on Drew to make all the decisions when clearly sometimes he needs to be reigned in when he's pressing too hard to get something done. Thats why Drew NEED Sean Payton. Carmichael is just the guy that helps draws up plays...SP is the one that deals with Drew. Knows how to talk to him and walks that fine line between friend and authority figure. In a way Sean Payton IS Drew's QB conscience. His balance. He brings him back off that ledge and keeps him from falling off but also has the balls to push Brees to get that killer instinct and just go for it.

I agree with some points. However you don't bench people like Manning, Brady, Rogers or Brees unless they're hurt... Thats it.
Brees threw 5 interceptions for multiple reason.
1. lack of a running game
2. abandoning the running game early.
3. falling behind and feeling the need to strike the end zone every play.
4. Recievers don't do jack **** to stop a ball from being intercepted( before anyone calls out a single play i realize this can't be done for all.. but the endzone interception caould have been prevented by our reciever!)
5. using the wrong running back
6. dropping all our hopes of winning on drew.

I'm the 1st to blame Drew for his poor performance but I would NEVER bench him. That send the wrong message in so many I couldn't imagine.

That's kinda' what I've been looking for, the reason why you leave a QB in there in a game like this. It ain't like your dealing with Jake Locker, Tim Tebow, Chad Henne or have an alternative in Daniels who's going to come in and be a game changer. Drew's an 'elite' QB, you gotta' let him take the heat.

Once again, the importance of not having a head coach is hammered home ... Guck Foodell.

Mentally injured is more devastating that physical...

Drew was mentally sprained...

You don't pull those guys because they are not getting the job done... You do pull them when they are hurting them selves and the team.

Drew threw 5 interceptions last night and folsk were quick to say its nothing that Manning hasn't done before vs Atlants this year. They didn't bench Peyton manning that game. I guess we just see it differently. I would NEVER bench Brees. That opens up a can of worms not only with the team but with Brees. You bench him and Brees will doubt himself and we may never get him back.

Once again just my thoughts.

If Vitt benches Drew, he would beran out of New Orleans.

However Saints need to consider drafting Drews replacment of the future.
