If I was commissioner and the Saints sat him in order to get a higher pick, I'd take away their 1st rounder and I'd LMMFAO at the folks who wanted him benched. Resting a banged up player for the playoffs is one thing, but tanking for a higher pick is disgusting in my view. |

Re: The conversation that must be had
Everyone understands Drew got hurt in San Diego.Playing in a meaningless game. Once we are officially out what makes the rest of the games meaningful? The guy is Guaranteed 60 million or something insane like that. We need to get every penney out of him we can and we can't do that if he gets hurt in a meaningless game. He is the Franchise and if we are out you save the franchise.

Re: The conversation that must be had
Sitting Brees for a higher draft pick set aside, I think Drew's arm strength needs closer scrutiny...
His reconstructed shoulder means he must depend on muscle tissue more than most of us (not that we call can throw a football) because of the torn tendons... I've found that his deep throws have been inaccurate and weak; and I believe the opposition has picked up on this... Drew really should be examined soon by Dr. Andrews and reevaluated (which I thought the team should have done prior to the Tom Condon F**KING, err Contract Extension)... Don't geaux off the deep end, there's plenty of blame to geaux around for this season - I just want to see Drew healthy and zipping the long balls as he was three years ago... |
It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

Re: The conversation that must be had
If you sit Drew Brees because the season means nothing the following will take place...
1. Drew Brees will NEVER be in the same sentence as Manning, Brady, Rodgers or any of the other greats. Benching him will hav that effect IMO. 2. New Orleans Saints will NEVER be considered an elite team again because of benching our best player. This could hurt us in more ways than I'd want to imagine. Not to mention the message it sends to the team. I can't even believe people are talking about this. Hard to imagine someone suggeste dit back in week 2-3.... |

Re: The conversation that must be had
If ANYBODY was Commissioner, other than Roger Goodell, we'd have a coach and be on a march to the Super Bowl.
But I get it, any reference to sitting the hundred million dollar quarterback is a personal assault to some members of a fan board, and therefore it should not be done. Comical. Alaska |

Re: The conversation that must be had
That's a really really tough call. The Bills are still starting Williams, Spiller and Jackson. Id wager that the Bills RBs are the most important cogs on the Bills squad. I've seen even better go down in seemingly hopeless and/or meaningless situattions.. See: Brady. Players may be playing out of pride. Maybe they're playing to reach certain incentives in their contracts. They may also be playing simply to pad stats in order to make themselves more desirable to other franchises.
I'm thinking that when your studs demand to play, you as a General simply rolls the dice out of respect for that particular ultra-productive player. I just cant see Brees asking for his ticket into the off-season to get punched. The man is a warrior.. I cant see Favre or Peyton getting shelved for the season. Yes I've mentioned Brees in this caliber of QB. He'll be welcome to belly up to the table with the most recent greats someday... |
Imitating my game is the most sincere form of flattery.
